Think of action weeks as sprints on AI Safety that build upon each other. The idea is to give the African diaspora an introductory but highly valuable insights packed week on specific themes relevant to AI Safety.

What Are Action Weeks?
Actions is just a term for projects and activities participants can complete within a specific action week. Actions are to be completed before the next action week. Participants that complete the most actions are giving shout-outs and their consistency wins them a spot in the AI Safety Essentials Fellowship Africa.
General Format
10 days of every month — We seek to utilize the 3rd and 4th Week of every month.
Speaker Sessions
→ 3 sessions by speakers we source
→ Friday nights and weekends for flexibility
→ 30 mins presentation, max 45 mins
Paper Reading Sessions
→ 2 sessions per action week
→ First session before speaker sessions
→ Last session after speaker sessions
Office Hours
→ Support for action completion
→ Ask questions you're unsure of
→ Get guidance from organizers
Actions & Tracking
→ Published on Notion as to-do lists
→ Submit proof via global form
→ All sessions recorded
What Are Actions?
Actions look like to-do lists and may span from:

They are tracked by a global form where users submit proof of their completion.
